Since my marriage
ended, almost no woman has lit the candles for me.
I’m not a religious man, and I don’t keep Shabbat, yet a part
of me still aches
for that small circle of light — to share
those ancient Jewish traditions,
to celebrate holidays like Chanukkah with a gentle woman whose presence
unlocks my
heart.
A woman before whom I can lay
down my defenses, open myself slowly,
and share moments that feel sacred — in the warmth of sunlit
days and
in the quiet sorrow of rainy ones.

I’m Meir Cohen, 57 years old, born
in Israel and living in Petah Tikva.

I’m 1.67 meters tall, my hair is grey-white, and I have a soft spot for animals
— especially cats. I’m divorced and the father of three
children, who no longer live with me.
