Meir1c - Where Melodies Became My Home: An Autobiography

My record collection.

After the sudden death of my

mother, I turned toward music.
It was the only place where I could breathe, the only place where grief
didn’t swallow me whole.
I began collecting obsessively — Israeli vinyl records, CDs, music books
— anything that kept me connected to the sounds that had shaped me.
That archive became my anchor, my identity, my way of surviving.
Especially in my marriage, music became the quiet language of our unrest.
And in general, music is my refuge, the place I retreat to when life demands confrontation.

Somewhere in my collection, a few musical instruments, like a guitar and an oud, keyboards and a violin wait as well. They have spent years by my side, despite the fact that I never learned to play them. Their purpose was never to make music with my hands, but to make something resonate within my heart. To many people, all these possessions might seem excessive. To me, they are like old

friends, each carrying a memory, a dream, a moment of curiosity, or a piece of inspiration.
There is comfort in being surrounded by the things I love, and a certain magic in discovering one more treasure to bring home.

Until today, I can spend every free moment wrapped in the nostalgic sounds of Israeli music from the mid-1960s to the 1980s. Artists like Yehoram Gaon, HaGevatron and HaParvarim have shaped my musical world. My record player hardly ever rests.

Some years ago a newspaper has published an article about my passion to collect:
